The Werth Family Foundation sponsored Industry Academic Fellowship (IAF) program at the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities Center for Nanotechnology (CSCU–CNT) provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to conduct team-based interdisciplinary research in collaboration with educators and industry professionals. IAF engages fellow in science research with the opportunity to learn about the business aspects of that research.
During the course of this eight-week summer program, IAF students will conduct research while exploring the business-related aspects of technology. Research teams will be working on nanotechnology projects with topics including nano-medicine and nano-environmental studies.
Students will participate in business-related workshops, led by faculty from the SCSU School of Business. Students will learn about topics such as intellectual property, marketing, and patents. Students will gain knowledge of the technical aspects of industry-related research as well as the business aspects.
Dates – Summer 2022
Eligibility – This program is open to highly motivated science students from SCSU and Connecticut Community Colleges. Minorities, women, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Stipend – Each participant will receive a stipend of up to $5,000; [$4,000 during the eight weeks in the summer (June & July), up to $1,000 during the following fall and spring semester for work in the research labs.]
