Data, Data, Everywhere: How do We Make Sense of It: NGSS Practice-Analyzing and Interpreting Data
July 27, 2015

Invited SCSU Professor Marie Nabbout-Cheiban and Professor Adam Goldberg discussed the concepts of statistics and probability using technology-based, hands-on activities. SCSU Professor Scott Graves presented some of his research data, touching upon the construction of graphs, analyzing the overall trends and interpreting the data. He also explored the visualization site for the “GLOBE Program” which holds data from teachers around the globe on over 100 countries. Teachers gained the understanding of the concepts of statistics and probability to analyze and characterize data –Data analysis, as well as the process of construction, analysis, and interpretation of graphical displays paired with hands-on activities that they can incorporate into their lessons.
