In particular, it is typically the first time students have the opportunity to apply classroom concepts and laboratory techniques to the solution of a real-life scientific problem. Towards this end, SCSU has developed an NHIC (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhvinnovation.com\">New Haven Innovation Collaborative<\/a>) Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program.<br \/>\nThis program has two major components; summer internships at local bioscience companies and on-campus research experiences with a focus on bioscience fields \u2014 including molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, drug discovery, bio-nanotechnology, neuroscience, and more. The NHIC summer REU program is open to students from colleges and universities in the greater New Haven area, and is designed to help prepare them for future internships and\/or employment at local leading companies by providing them will core skills and hands-on experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dates<\/strong> &#8211; Summer 2022<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong> &#8211; This program is open to highly motivated science students from colleges and universities in the greater New Haven area.
